Connecting Your PAX Card Reader to Wi-Fi

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to connect your PAX card reader to a Wi-Fi network. It applies to PAX IM25 and IM30 models.

1. Prerequisites

Before proceeding, ensure the following:

โœ… The device is powered on and connected to a power source.
โœ… The Wi-Fi network is available and has internet access.
โœ… You have the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.

2. Steps to Connect to Wi-Fi

Step 1: Exit the Current Application

To access the device settings, you first need to return to the PAX home screen.

Step 2: Access Wi-Fi Settings

  1. Open the Settings menu.

  2. Enter the password: pax9876@@ to access the settings.

  3. Select Wi-Fi.

Step 3: Connect to a Wi-Fi Network

  1. The device will scan for available Wi-Fi networks.

  2. Select the correct Wi-Fi SSID (network name).

  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard.

    • Double-check for uppercase, lowercase, and special characters.

  4. Confirm the connection and wait for the device to connect.

  5. Once successfully connected, a Wi-Fi icon will appear at the top of the screen.

4. Troubleshooting Connection Issues

If the Connection Fails:

๐Ÿ”น Verify that the Wi-Fi password is correct.
๐Ÿ”น Test the Wi-Fi network with another device to confirm it is working.
๐Ÿ”น Ensure the Wi-Fi signal is strong.
๐Ÿ”น Restart the card reader and try again.
๐Ÿ”น Check the router security settingsโ€”some enterprise Wi-Fi networks may require additional configurations.

If the Wi-Fi Connects but No Internet Access:

๐Ÿ”น Test other devices on the same network to check for internet connectivity.
๐Ÿ”น Try switching to a different Wi-Fi network and see if the issue persists.

5. Resetting Wi-Fi Settings

If you need to reconfigure the Wi-Fi connection, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Network or Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Select Forget Network.

  3. Re-scan available networks and re-enter the Wi-Fi password to reconnect.
