Q: What is the PAR Level? Is it the maximum capacity of a coil?
A: No. The PAR Level is not the maximum capacity of a coil.
The PAR Level is the target quantity that you normally refill a coil to during each restock.
Example:
The coil can physically hold 10 products.
However, you normally refill it with only 7 products.
In this case:
Coil Capacity = 10
PAR Level = 7
This distinction is important because after a Collection or Restock, VMMS automatically resets the Current Level to the configured PAR Level. If the PAR Level is configured incorrectly, the Current Level shown in VMMS will also be incorrect.
Therefore, before investigating inventory discrepancies, always make sure the PAR Level accurately reflects your normal refill quantity—not the coil’s maximum capacity.
